Boosted Safe vs Kwick Strike: a seat-side vault, or a truck safe on the anchors.
Kwick Strike makes The Strike, a mechanical pistol vault that mounts between or under the front seats with a bolt-down or a security cable. Boosted Safe clips to the LATCH anchors (called ISOFIX outside the US) on the back seat of your truck or car, the steel bars welded to the vehicle’s body to hold a child seat. Different jobs. Here is which is which.

Where we win
Where Boosted Safe is the better buy.
If the pistol stays in the truck while you don’t, these matter more.
- It locks to the truck itself.Steel latches clip to the LATCH anchors welded to the vehicle’s body. The release is inside the safe. No seat-rail cable, no padlock, no drilling.
- It hides.Under its quilted cover it looks like a child’s booster seat, not a gun vault.
- The rest of your stuff fits.14.3 L inside: pistols (unloaded), magazines, a laptop, a wallet. The Strike holds one pistol.
- Certified for firearms. The Golden Gate Elite is a 12-gauge steel CDOJ certified gun safe on California’s roster.
Trucks
Does it fit my truck?
Boosted Safe needs a back seat with LATCH anchors. US passenger vehicles from model year 2003 have them. A regular cab with no back seat has nowhere for it to go. Heavy trucks over 8,500 lb GVWR can be exceptions, so check yours before you order.

Boosted Safe vs Kwick Strike: straight answers.
What is the difference between Boosted Safe and Kwick Strike?
The job. The Strike is a mechanical pistol vault that mounts between or under the front seats, held by a bolt-down or a security cable around the seat rail. Boosted Safe is a steel car safe that clips to the LATCH anchors on the back seat, looks like a booster seat and holds several handguns (unloaded) plus a laptop.
How does the Kwick Strike mount?
The maker says it mounts between or under the seats with a permanent bolt-down or a security-cable anchor. Its instructions loop the included cable around the seat rail and lock it to the unit with a padlock you supply (Kwick Strike instructions).
Does the Kwick Strike fit my truck?
The maker says it fits 190+ vehicles, keeps a fit list, and says bench seats are not compatible. Check your truck on its list.
Will a Boosted Safe fit my truck?
It needs a back seat with LATCH anchors. US passenger vehicles from model year 2003 have them. A regular cab with no back seat has nowhere for it to go. Heavy trucks over 8,500 lb GVWR can be exceptions, so check your vehicle.
Is the Kwick Strike allowed for unattended storage in California?
Kwick Strike’s own FAQ says four states (California, New York, Colorado and Oregon) have vehicle-storage rules that the Strike’s visible mount does not meet for unattended storage. It is not on California’s roster. From Boosted Safe, the Golden Gate Elite is a CDOJ certified gun safe (see the listing). This is not legal advice: check your state’s law.
Does either one need batteries?
The Strike needs none. The Boosted Safe Elite and Golden Gate Elite run on 4 AA batteries with USB-C emergency power and a backup key. The Basic models open with a code and key and need no batteries.
Will my revolver fit?
The maker says revolvers do not fit the Strike. Boosted Safe is 15.1 × 13.6 × 4.25 in inside: measure your revolver against that. Firearms are stored unloaded.
Is either one theft-proof?
No. With enough time and tools nothing is secure. The job is to raise the time and the tool count. Bolt cutters go through a cable. Steel anchors welded to the car’s body take more of both. Watch the pull test.
What comes with a Boosted Safe?
30-day money back. Lifetime warranty. Break-in replacement guarantee. Free shipping on orders $299+. The quilted cover, a steel security cable and foam are in the box, and every Elite comes with a Faraday bag that fits a 16-inch laptop, an iPad or a phone. Buying for two vehicles? Buy one, get one half off: 25% off every safe when you buy 2 to 9, 30% off at 10 or more, all six safes counted together. It does not stack with other codes.
