What Steve tested
This is a 4-minute first look at the Boosted Safe Elite by a truck owner who posts as Steve4948 on YouTube, filmed the day it arrived and posted Jun 26, 2025.
Video by Steve4948, on YouTube. Bought it himself. Words below are ours, not theirs.
He bought it for his truck after break-ins near him. There are no tests here, only an owner going through the first day. He sets a code, enrolls a finger, finds the reader picks it up well enough, and latches the safe in.
His useful detail is on the hooks. They have two positions: one for covered LATCH anchors (called ISOFIX outside the US) and one for exposed anchors. Few videos explain this.
He stays cautious. He describes the security as something the safe is supposed to deliver, which is fair after one day. His doubt is about the disguise: "Once criminals are familiar with it, they'll see it". He thinks it may fool an average thief glancing through a window, and that is as far as he goes. We agree the cover is only a first layer. The second is the mount. The release is inside the safe. It comes off the anchors only after it has been opened. With enough time and tools nothing is secure. The job is to raise the time and the tool count.
What to watch for
- 0:26. What is in the box, and the batteries going in.
- 1:18. Setting a code, then changing it because it was on camera.
- 1:38. Enrolling a finger with four touches.
- 2:22. The two hook positions.
- 3:30. His doubt about the disguise.
The Boosted Safe Elite in his truck
The Boosted Safe Elite opens by fingerprint, keypad or key. Before you buy, check your vehicle, since heavy trucks can be an exception. For the reasoning behind the cover, read why it looks like a booster seat. You can also compare the models, see every car safe or read other Boosted Safe reviews.
