What Motorhead Garage covers
This is a 5-minute Motorhead Garage TV feature on Boosted Safe, in which the host interviews our founder, Skyler Baird, posted on our YouTube channel Aug 11, 2026.

This is an interview, not a test, and there is no criticism in it. Skyler starts with why ordinary car storage falls short: "It doesn't make a lot of sense to leave it in the center console". He goes through what people store, the fingerprint reader, and the backups for it.
Then he contrasts the mount. Most car safes rely on a metal cable, while ours clips to the LATCH anchors (called ISOFIX outside the US). He describes two of our own demonstrations. In the first, we bought competing cable safes and people pulled them out by hand. The second is a tow, with a strap around our safe and a car dragged in gear. Both are ours, and neither is an independent test or a rating. For the first, see the pull test. The show does not get into tools. In our filmed test a screwdriver pried the Basic open at 2:20, and the Elite stayed shut through hand tools and hammers.
He also shows two products side by side: the Elite under its cover, and the Boosted Safe Mini Elite, a real certified booster seat with a locked steel box inside. The Mini is on pre-order. Shipping: November. Read meet the Mini for more.
Some context. The host opens with a line about how often break-ins happen, which is not a sourced number. The sourced one: in 2025 police reported 698,347 thefts from vehicles to the FBI. That is one every 45 seconds, according to the FBI Crime Data Explorer, from agencies covering about 89% of the US population. The offer mentioned at the end may have changed, so check today's price at all six safes. The 50-fingerprint figure is what he states on the show.
What to watch for
- 0:32. Why he says the glove box and console fall short.
- 0:53. The fingerprint reader and laptop-size space.
- 1:47. The pull test, as he describes it.
- 2:07. The tow demonstration.
- 2:41. The Mini, as a booster seat with a safe inside.
The Boosted Safe Elite and Mini on the show
The Boosted Safe Elite is 16-gauge steel and fits a 16-inch MacBook Pro. The release is inside the safe. It comes off the anchors only after it has been opened. With enough time and tools nothing is secure. The job is to raise the time and the tool count. Terms are on the warranty and guarantee page.
