What Car n Gadget Tech shows
This is a 37-second vertical overview of Boosted Safe by Car n Gadget Tech by V, a YouTube channel, posted Apr 9, 2024, and framed as a pick among car accessories on Amazon.
Video by Car n Gadget Tech by V, on YouTube. The video does not say how the channel got the unit. Words below are ours, not theirs.
It is narration over footage, with no test and no opinion you could check. It names what you might store, such as a laptop, phone, camera or lenses, and mentions the lock and the clips. That is about all.
Some of what it says needs correcting. It opens with an older break-in statistic that we do not use. The current figure: in 2025 police reported 698,347 thefts from vehicles to the FBI. That is one every 45 seconds, according to the FBI Crime Data Explorer, from agencies covering about 89% of the US population. It says the safe suits any car. The anchors come in US passenger vehicles from model year 2003, with exceptions. It also makes an absolute claim about the contents, which we do not make. With enough time and tools nothing is secure. The job is to raise the time and the tool count.
What to watch for
- 0:26. The lock and the clips.
- 0:32. The release from inside, which is the one idea worth keeping.
The Boosted Safe Basic in this clip
The clip describes a combination lock. The closest safe today is the Boosted Safe Basic, which clips to the LATCH anchors (called ISOFIX outside the US), needs no batteries and opens with a code and a key. The release is inside the safe. It comes off the anchors only after it has been opened.
To find out if it suits your car, check your vehicle. To choose a model, compare the models, see every car safe or read the reviews. For the bigger picture, read how thieves pick a car.
