This video shows two first-time testers setting up the Boosted Safe Basic, attaching it to a mock car seat, starting the pull and tool round, and checking what fits inside.
The Basic clips to LATCH anchors (called ISOFIX outside the US) and needs no batteries. One tester finished setup inside the five-minute limit, and both worked out the anchors without having seen them before. It did not come off the anchors in the pull round.
This cut leaves out how the tool round ended. In the full film, a screwdriver pried the Basic open at 2 minutes 20 seconds. With enough time and tools nothing is secure. The job is to raise the time and the tool count.
In the fit check it holds two handguns, a phone, a battery and a laptop. Firearms are stored unloaded. The written results are on the pull test page.

0:00 The Boosted Safe Basic. Okay, so these are the first of the Boosted Safes that we're testing today. We got the Boosted Safe Basic. This is our non-smart lock edition. These are the dumb lock. No batteries needed. These gentlemen are going to get it attached to the chairs and then set a code. First one to do so wins. You got five minutes. If it takes more than five minutes, then I have failed. Neither of you have set these up before? Nope, okay. Never seen one. On your mark. Get set. Let's go.
0:32 The Boosted Safe is a car safe, designed for your car, made for your car, latches into the back seat of your car. We might have... Let's see what we got. Let's do that, let's do that, let's do that, Oz. Austin is away. Lance is not. Trying not to, doing my best not to help here. There we go. Nice, nice. Minute 30 so far. Nice, nice, nice. This is...
3:00 All right, time. 2:32 for Austin. This is exciting for me because this is the first time I've ever seen somebody try to figure that out, to set it up, and seeing someone that's never seen the safe before, opened it before, the different ways of setting it up.
3:20 Onto the pull test, everybody. They are both hooked up. They both, interestingly, they both use the ISOFIX connection points, which are the baby seat anchors [...]. Right and left seats have these hooks that are both 11 inches apart. Our safes securely attach into those hooks, just with a simple click. They also hooked on the braided cable. I don't like the braided cable, we include it, but I thought it was interesting that they doubled it up. It's cool to see people use things that they've never seen before, and I also like that they both figured out that it attached to the seats without seeing it before. Lance gets extra points because he left the booster seat disguise on. Austin, you got the safe on, that's the most important part.
4:03 Rules are you got to spend 30 seconds trying your own manpower to get it off. Then you move on to tools. Whoever uses the smallest tool to either open or remove the safe in five minutes wins the round. Is that fair enough? And the goal is to either remove the safe from the chair or to open the safe and get the contents out. Does that make sense? On your marks. Get set. Go. 30 seconds starts now.
4:53 Okay, your 30 seconds is up if you want to try to use another tool. You're welcome to start using other tools. If you want to keep using manpower, manpower is the least, you know, the smallest tool. All right, we got the first tool out of the day. First tool of the day, a screwdriver, big pry bar screwdriver. This is exciting. My favorite part about this is that, oh, you got to always go before the chopsticks. Chopsticks. I should have tried the magnets. It's okay.
5:47 One of the things that I didn't mention before is the Basic version. [...]
6:07 Let's do our fit test. So we've got our P365 going in. Will it fit? It fits. Our Maxim 9. Will it fit? They both fit. Shut them up nice. Let's see what else we got. Tippmann Arms Co., Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA. Oh my. First one. It's a tight fit, but it'll fit. So this actually has pluck foam that you could change the size and shape of whatever you want in there.
6:39 First, we're going to see if it fits the phone. It fits the phone. Next, we're going to see if it fits the battery. It fits the battery. And then obviously if it fits the battery, it's going to be tall enough for the laptop, but is it wide enough? Here we go. Boom. It fits your laptop. That's going to fit your DSLRs. It's going to fit your laptop. It's going to fit your handbags. It's going to fit a lot more volume.
