What fits in a car safe?

Handguns
Will my pistol fit, holster on?
Check height first. The full-size safes are 4.25 inches tall inside, so lay your pistol on its side, in its holster, and measure. On film the Elite held three handguns at once. A firearm goes in unloaded, and laws on leaving one in a car vary by state.
Fit questions.
Does a carbine or rifle fit?
No. The full-size safes are 15 to 17 inches long and 4.25 inches tall inside. Use a locked hard case or a full-width under-seat box for long guns.
Does a 16-inch laptop fit?
Yes, in the Elite. It measures 15.1 inches on its long side inside, and a 16-inch MacBook Pro fits. A laptop longer than 15 inches on its longest side will not.
What about a purse or camera?
A small purse or clutch fits, and so does a camera body. A big tote bag does not.
Will it take up a seat?
Yes, one outer rear seat while it is installed. To take it out, open it, press the two releases inside and lift it out.
Will it fit my car?
If your back seat has lower LATCH anchors, it fits. Check your car in about a minute.
