Why a Faraday sleeve belongs in your vehicle

Closing a laptop or dropping headphones into a backpack does not guarantee every radio has stopped transmitting. Depending on the device and its settings, nearby Bluetooth signals can still be detected with widely available scanner apps. Law-enforcement agencies have confirmed that some vehicle burglars use these tools to help identify vehicles that may contain electronics.

Designed for common wireless signals

The sleeve is intended to reduce Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular, GPS, NFC, and RFID signal transmission when properly closed. Final frequency coverage and attenuation specifications will be published after production-unit testing.

Important: shielding works both ways

While a device is sealed inside, calls, messages, live location, Find My, GPS updates, Bluetooth connections, and other wireless functions may be unavailable. Remove the device from the sleeve to reconnect. The Faraday Sleeve is a signal-shielding accessory; it is not a physical safe, charging sleeve, or substitute for locked and anchored storage.

Why not just turn Bluetooth off?

That can help, but device behavior varies by hardware, software, settings, sleep state, and connected services. A properly sealed Faraday sleeve provides a simple physical routine that does not depend on remembering every radio setting.

Does the sleeve replace a Boosted Safe?

No. The sleeve helps reduce wireless signal exposure; it does not stop someone from physically taking the device. Use it inside locked, hidden, and vehicle-anchored storage for stronger layered protection.

Will tracking still work while my device is inside?

Do not count on it. Effective shielding can also prevent your device from communicating with cellular networks, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS satellites, and crowdsourced location networks while sealed.

How do I know it is sealed correctly?

Place the device fully inside, fold the closure as directed, and press the hook-and-loop strip firmly from edge to edge. Before relying on the sleeve, test it with the exact device and signal types you intend to block.
