Bodies, lenses, the laptop and the cards from today’s shoot, in a steel safe that clicks into the child-seat anchors in your back seat. It looks like a booster seat, and nobody breaks a window for a booster seat.
Insurance replaces the camera. Not the card.
Between venues, at dinner, at the gas station, the kit waits in the car. A smash-and-grab takes under a minute. Then you’re the one who has to call the client.
- A camera bag on the seat.Everyone knows what a camera bag looks like, and what’s in it.
- The trunk.Fine, unless someone watched you load it.
- Carrying all of it in.Every location, every lunch, every time.
- A lock box on a cable.Bolt cutters take about four seconds, and the box leaves with them.
Your car has steel anchors. We lock a safe to them.
You might not know they’re there. Every passenger vehicle sold in the US since the 2003 model year has them, by federal standard FMVSS 225. A child seat clicks into them. So does a Boosted Safe.
- Locked to the car.Two steel latches grab the same bars that hold a child seat in a crash. The release is inside the safe.
- Looks like a booster seat.Nobody breaks a window for a booster seat.
- Opens in a second.Fingerprint first. Keypad and key behind it.
Why it's a Boosted Safe
Steel. Fingerprint. Anchors.
“a vehicle-locked safe that can be disguised as a booster seat”
Our founder kept laptops and cameras in his car. The idea came to him while he was installing his son’s booster seat.

What’s the best way to secure camera gear in a car?
Keep it out of sight, and don’t count on the trunk if anyone watched you load it. A car safe for camera gear should be steel, locked to the car itself, and not look like a camera case. The Boosted Safe Elite clicks into the child-seat anchors in your back seat, opens with your finger, and hides under a booster-seat cover. Back up the cards when you can; the safe covers the hours in between.
Will my kit fit?
The inside is 15.1 × 13.6 × 4.25 inches. Bodies and lenses lie flat in foam you cut to your own kit, and a 16-inch MacBook Pro fits. Tripods, light stands and long lenses on a body do not.
Does heat hurt gear in there?
The safe is steel, not a cooler. It is as hot or cold as the inside of your car. Treat batteries and film the way you already do in a parked car.
Can a thief just take the whole safe?
It is latched to steel anchors welded to the car’s body, and the release is inside the safe. To take it out, someone has to open it first. With enough time and enough tools nothing is secure. Our job is to make a smash-and-grab need far more of both than a thief brings to a parking lot.
Can I move it to a rental or an assistant’s car?
Yes. Open it, press the two releases inside, lift it out. It clips into the next car the same way. Yours, your spouse’s, a rental.
Which cars does it fit?
US passenger vehicles from model year 2003 have lower anchors in the back seat (LATCH in the US, ISOFIX everywhere else). Heavy-duty pickups over 8,500 lb and regular cabs may not: check yours in a minute. The safe clips to the anchors in under a minute, no tools. For an older vehicle, or a spot without anchors, the Universal Anchor Adapter (coming soon) adds the same latch points.
Buying one for a second shooter or a second car?
Yes, and it gets cheaper. Buy one, get one half off: 25% off every safe when you buy 2 to 9, and 30% off at 10 or more. All six safes count together, mixed or matched: Elite, Basic, Mini Elite, Mini Basic, Golden Gate Elite and Golden Gate Basic. Refurbished safes don’t count, and it doesn’t stack with other codes. Bigger order or a question? Call or text 202-BOOSTED and a real person in Utah answers.
What if I don’t like it?
Put it in your car and live with it. If it isn’t for you, send it back inside 30 days for a refund. Defects are covered for as long as you own it.
Shoot the job. Stop babysitting the car.
