A cable is a suggestion. An anchor is a fact.
Every other vehicle safe is a small box on a cable, or a part made for one vehicle. Here are the exact models people compare us to, with the numbers their own makers publish. Swipe sideways.

Competitor figures are the manufacturers’ published specifications for these exact models, checked September 17, 2026; prices checked September 29, 2026. “Not published” means we could not verify it, not that the feature is missing. Interior volume is D × W × H before foam. We tested four of these on camera: see the head-to-head tests.
How each one attaches
Console vault, cable lock box, or anchors.
Three ways to keep a safe in a car, and who each one suits.
- Console vaultSteel, built for one vehicle’s console, installed for good. A sound choice if you want the safe to be part of that truck. It stays with the truck when you sell it.
- Cable lock boxCheap and portable, and better than a glove box. The cable is the weak point: bolt cutters go through one in seconds, and the box is small enough to carry away.
- Boosted SafeClips to the LATCH anchors in the back seat, no tools and no drilling. The release is inside the locked safe. It looks like a booster seat and moves to your next car in a minute.
What does the work
Three things do the actual work.
- Hidden in plain sightDisguises as an ordinary booster seat. A prowler scanning for valuables sees kids’ gear, not a gun safe. The best lock is the one nobody tries.
- Anchored, not grab-and-goLocks to your vehicle’s factory LATCH/ISOFIX seat anchors. It cannot simply be lifted out through a broken window. No drilling, no permanent modification.
- A real lock, real accessFingerprint, electronic keypad, and a pick-resistant backup key. About a second to open when you are back at the car, and only you can open it.
The Numbers
Built like it matters. Because it does.
Built and inspected in Utah. Free shipping on orders $299+. Here is what the Elite is made of.
Vehicle Fit
Check your anchors before ordering.
The Elite is designed for compatible vehicles with rear-seat LATCH or ISOFIX anchor points. The lower anchors are usually located in the rear seat bight, which is the crease where the rear seat back meets the seat bottom. Fit varies by year, make, model, trim, and seating layout. Before ordering, confirm that your vehicle has accessible rear-seat anchors.
Questions people ask when they compare.
Which Boosted Safe should I buy?
The Boosted Safe Elite is the one most people buy: full size, opens with a fingerprint, a code or a key. The Basic is the same steel body with a combination dial and a key, and no batteries. The Golden Gate Elite is the one for firearms. The Mini is a booster seat with a safe inside.
What is the difference between Elite and Basic?
How you get in. The Elite opens with a fingerprint, a keypad code or the backup key, and runs on four AA batteries with a USB-C port for emergency power. The Basic opens with a combination dial and a key and needs no batteries. The steel and the anchors are the same.
Which one is for a firearm?
The Golden Gate Elite. It is 12-gauge steel and it is a CDOJ certified gun safe. Firearms are stored unloaded.
Is a cable lock box good enough?
It is better than a glove box. Its weak point is the cable: bolt cutters go through one in seconds and the box leaves with the thief. With enough time and enough tools any safe can be beaten, ours included. Ours makes a smash-and-grab need far more of both.
Which vehicles does it fit?
The Elite is designed for compatible vehicles with rear-seat LATCH or ISOFIX anchor points. Fit varies by year, make, model, trim, and seating layout. Check the vehicle fit guide before ordering.
Can I move it between vehicles?
Yes. It connects to your vehicle's factory LATCH/ISOFIX anchors with no drilling or permanent modification, so you can move it between vehicles in about two minutes.
What happens if the battery dies?
The low-battery indicator gives you advance warning, and the backup key opens the safe even with a dead battery. Keep the key somewhere secure and separate from the vehicle.
