Some 2001 and 2002 vehicles had voluntary LATCH installations before the federal mandate. Check the seat bight, which is the crease where the seat back meets the seat bottom. If you see two metal U-shaped bars about 11 inches apart, you are good.

No rear seat usually means no LATCH bars. In that setup, the included secondary steel security cable can be used to anchor to fixed frame points such as under-seat rails, cargo tie-down loops, or a custom bracket.
